La pobreza aument\u00f3 a un alarmante 55,5% de la poblaci\u00f3n en el primer trimestre de 2024, de los cuales un 17,5% es indigente. As\u00ed lo estim\u00f3 el director del Observatorio de la Deuda Social de la Universidad Cat\u00f3lica Argentina<\/strong> (UCA), Agust\u00edn Salvia<\/strong>.<\/h3>\n

Extrapolado a la poblaci\u00f3n de los 31 aglomerados urbanos, eso implica que alrededor de 25 millones de argentinos son pobres, de los cuales cerca de 8 millones se encuentran en estado de extrema pobreza, por debajo de la Canasta B\u00e1sica Alimentaria (CBA).<\/h3>\n

El desglose de los \u00faltimos datos del Instituto Nacional de Estad\u00edsticas y Censos<\/strong> (INDEC) muestra que en el cuarto trimestre de 2023 la pobreza ascendi\u00f3 al 44,8%, mientras que la indigencia trep\u00f3 al 13,8%. Pero en diciembre, tras la devaluaci\u00f3n del 54% del peso, la primera escal\u00f3 al 45,2% y la segunda al 15,4%.<\/h3>\n

\u201cLa inseguridad alimentaria total para \u00e1reas urbanas relevadas por la encuesta del ODSA-UCA, alcanza al 24,7% de las personas, al 20,8% de los hogares y al 32,2% de los ni\u00f1os, ni\u00f1as y adolescentes. Por otra parte, se encuentran en una situaci\u00f3n a\u00fan m\u00e1s grave, con inseguridad alimentaria severa el 10,9% de las personas, el 8,8% de los hogares y el 13,9% de los ni\u00f1os, ni\u00f1as y adolescentes (NNyA).<\/h3>\n

Al considerar el AMBA, los valores de inseguridad alimentaria total se ubican en el 26,4% de las personas, el 21,8% de los hogares y el 35% de NNyA. Al considerar la inseguridad alimentaria severa se ubican en 9,9%, 12,7% y 16,5%, respectivamente\u201d, seg\u00fan consigna el informe que se titula \u201cDeudas sociales estructurales en la sociedad argentina\u201d.<\/h3>\n

En Argentina, el 20,6% de los hogares sufren insuficiencia alimentaria, y totalizan cerca de 3,7 millones de viviendas, que albergan a unos 11 millones de habitantes. Estos elevados valores de privaciones alimentarias que sufre la poblaci\u00f3n buscan ser compensados por diferentes acciones del Estado.<\/h3>\n

\u201cConsiderando a los ni\u00f1os, ni\u00f1as y adolescentes, el 42,6% de ellos reside en hogares que reciben la AUH+Tarjeta Alimentaria, el 50% asiste a comedores escolares, el 36,7% recibe caja o bolsones de alimentos de comedores y el 11,1% recibe caja o bolsones de alimentos de comedor no escolar; sumando en muchos hogares m\u00e1s de un beneficio\u201d, indica el informe del ODSA-UCA.<\/h3>\n

POBREZA E INDIGENCIA: PERSPECTIVAS PARA 2024<\/h3>\n

En medio de un escenario recesivo, la baja de la pobreza para fines de 2024 depender\u00e1 de que la inflaci\u00f3n contin\u00fae en un sendero de desaceleraci\u00f3n, comiencen a llegar inversiones y se reactive la econom\u00eda. “Pero no sabemos cu\u00e1nto m\u00e1s durar\u00e1 esta recesi\u00f3n. Si la inflaci\u00f3n baja por los ajustes de tarifas y no se genera inversi\u00f3n, la pobreza seguir\u00e1 cercana al 50% y la indigencia en el 15%”, se\u00f1al\u00f3 Salvia.<\/h3>\n

Aunque pronostic\u00f3 que para junio habr\u00e1 un “veranito” gracias al cobro del aguinaldo, y la suba de las jubilaciones y programas sociales, que reactivar\u00e1n un poco el consumo (viene en una fuerte curva descendente). Pero esto tambi\u00e9n puede traer una aceleraci\u00f3n inflacionaria.<\/h3>\n

“Para que baje la pobreza, deber\u00eda ceder la inflaci\u00f3n y generarse nuevos puestos de trabajo con salarios que crezcan por encima del IPC, al igual que los programas sociales. As\u00ed, para fin de a\u00f1o, la proyecci\u00f3n de la pobreza estar\u00eda en un piso cercano al 38%\/40% y la indigencia del 12%, siempre y cuando se genere un contexto de baja de inflaci\u00f3n y reactivaci\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica”, evalu\u00f3 Salvia.<\/h3>\n
